ABOUT JACQUELIN

Jacquelin is a poet, yogini, muse, teacher and a divine feminine based out of Portland, Oregon. With a mystical vision and the sharp intellect of a writer, she courageously and passionately embodies these intersecting archetypes and embraces her unique path by trusting that which most inspires her and surrendering the rest.

As a child, Jacquelin’s imagination was restless, and she explored it by wandering from each landscape created for her amusement. This is how she discovered that she wanted to be a writer as she took the family’s desktop to type stories each morning before walking to her elementary school.

In college, while studying poetry and literature, Jacquelin had a health crisis which led her to practicing yoga to alleviate her physical symptoms. At the same time, while living in Utah for school, she began to spend more time in the great outdoors communing with nature and befriending the elements. Each season revealed to her new forms of magic that existed outside of her mind–as it was real. It was through various excursions out in the desert wilderness that she began to recognize that the body which she had been birthed into, matched the intelligent body of earth. From this, she began to honor her experience existing as a woman as sacred.

It was all potent medicine to her.

Since then, Jacquelin has completed three trauma informed yoga teacher trainings, attended various yoga workshops, retreats, and participated in philosophy courses with the hope of making yoga accessible and grounding. She has her 200HR certification through the Yoga Alliance and teaches restorative yoga and Mysore-Ashtanga yoga in Portland, Oregon and around the world.

Her writing has very much been inspired by her devotional practices and her deep reverence for the earth. It has been published and featured in Metaphor, [inherspace] Journal, Pacific Review, and Bicoastal Review. She has served as an Admissions Editor for Metaphor and is a reader for Poetry International. Her first poetry chapbook, Eurydice, is available now.

Currently, she is chasing the sun around the world while writing love letters to friends, lovers and family.
